Tender Asset Management

Agroindustriala Santim (Sanandrei) – often referred to as Santim Fishing Pond – is Tender Group’s flagship project in sustainable aquaculture.

Located in Sânandrei, Timiș County (about 13 km from Timișoara), this venture centers on the development of a modern fish farm and reservoir management system. Agroindustriala Santim S.A. oversees roughly 81,000 m² of mixed-use land, which includes water surfaces, ancillary buildings, and adjacent agricultural fields supporting the aquaculture operations

Project Overview

In partnership with Romania’s National Agency for Fishing and Aquaculture (MADR DGP-AMPOP), Tender Group has secured a concession of the Sânandrei reservoir to cultivate fish and promote regional aquaculture . The initiative is backed by significant non-reimbursable funding (grants), underscoring its importance for local sustainable development . Key features of the Santim aquaculture project include:
• Fish Farming Infrastructure: The reservoir and land are being developed into a fish breeding and rearing facility. This includes creating ponds or enclosures, hatcheries, and feeding systems suitable for freshwater species. The extensive property allows for a scalable operation, aiming to produce a steady supply of fish for market while maintaining ecological balance.
• Integrated Agriculture: Part of the 81,000 m² property is agricultural land, which Agroindustriala Santim uses to support the fish farm (e.g., cultivating feed crops or using nutrient-rich pond water for irrigation) . This integration of aquaculture with agriculture exemplifies a circular approach, where by-products of one process benefit another – a hallmark of sustainable farming.
• Logistics and Accessibility: The Santim site is strategically positioned along the European Route E674 (Timișoara–Arad), ensuring easy transport access . This proximity to major roads and urban centers means the fish products can quickly reach markets in Timișoara and beyond, and equipment or supplies can be delivered efficiently. The location also simplifies visits for technical support and potential agri-tourism activities.
The primary goal of the Santim project is to boost local fishery resources and demonstrate best practices in aquaculture . By doing so, Tender Group contributes to food security and economic growth in the region, all while utilizing sustainable methods. This project diversifies Tender’s agricultural portfolio into fisheries, aligning with global trends of expanding protein sources through aquaculture. The success of Santim could serve as a model for similar projects, showing how public-private partnerships can revitalize underused natural resources into productive ventures.
