The business traces its roots to ICSH, set up in July 1950 under the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry to build, repair and commission the Hunedoara and Călan steel plants.

Building an industrial region
ICSH carried out more than 90% of the construction, assembly and commissioning work on both steel platforms. With around 9,000 employees, it also built housing and worked on the steel plants at Călărași, Călan and Hunedoara.

The company began exporting steel structures to European markets and broadened its work to industrial, commercial and civil construction.

Privatisation
In October 2004 the state sold a 70% stake in the company, which later became part of Tender Group's construction businesses.
