A Romanian geophysical services company with roots going back to 1950. Prospecțiuni acquires and processes seismic data, runs well logging and perforating operations, and carries out gravity, magnetic, electrical, geological and topographic surveys, mainly for the oil and gas industry.
Seven decades of geophysics
Prospecțiuni traces its roots to 1950 and to IPGG, set up in 1956 as Romania’s first state enterprise for hydrocarbon prospecting. Its crews worked in Iraq, Syria and Libya in the 1970s and 1980s and recorded the first 3D seismic surveys in Romania in 1982–1983. The company became Prospecțiuni SA in 1991, was listed in 1997 and has been privately owned since 2000. Alongside seismic work, it later added a well logging and perforating division.

Equipment and track record
Prospecțiuni operates its own field equipment for seismic and non-seismic surveys, from vibroseis fleets and nodal recorders to gravity, magnetic and electrical instruments.
